Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Streaming IA thru blu-ray?

Have any of the forumites figured out how to stream the holdings of the Archive through a blu-ray player? I have been fortunate enough to have experienced a technology upgrade in the house with and AV receiver and blu-ray player and I'm still learning how to use them. I'm able to do Pandora, but am wondering whether I'll need to drill some holes in the wall to run an Ethernet cable from PC to the receiver and whether that will allow it. I learned from some exes not to drill without knowing what you're getting into, so I thought I'd try to actually understand what I'm doing before going for it as a refreshing change of tactics.

As of this moment, most internet music streaming is accomplished via network capable A/V receivers, sonos, squeezebox, PC's, tablet's, smart phone's etc.

Most of the Blu Ray player streaming features address video based internet content.

However, Samsung has introduced a new smart wi-fi Blu Ray player that features DLNA technology enabling an all share and sync of multiple devices and will play music files.

I'm sure at the price point it's a plastic piece of crap that addresses features, not high performance audio & video.

Apple is bringing to market a 55" Oled tv with a built in operating system for the ultimate surfing experience.

Wait 6 months, everything will change.
